Pakistan complains to Google and Wikipedia over cartoons of Prophet Muhammad

Pakistani authorities complained about Google and Wikipedia because of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad and SERPs looking for a non-authentic version of the Quran. The companies have been given a warning, according to a press release from the country’s Telecommunications Authority posted at Twitter .

They were accused of delivering “misleading search results” that allegedly offend the prophet’s name. According to the Pakistani authorities, this could be considered as spreading blasphemy.

The Office clarified that in this way it responded to numerous complaints from Pakistani citizens. Wikipedia has called for the removal of “blasphemous content” to avoid criminal prosecution.

On the evening of October 16, in a suburb of Paris, an 18-year-old native of Chechnya killed and beheaded teacher Samuel Pati. The reason for the murder was the demonstration at the Party class of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad – the teacher told the students about freedom of speech. The killer was shot and killed by the police during his arrest.
