The operating system NetBSD 9.5 has been released, classified as a corrective update that mainly includes fixes for problems and vulnerabilities identified since the publication of NetBSD 9.4 in April 2024. Installation images of 507 MB in size are available for download, with assemblies for 57 system architectures and 16 different CPU families. These images can be accessed here.
Aside from bug fixes, the release of NetBSD 9.5 also brings support for new versions of compilers and platforms. Code has been transferred from the NetBSD 10 branch to provide support for Brainboxes USB2Serial adapters and wireless cards on Mercusys MW150USV2 and Asus USB-N10 Nano B1 chips. More information can be found here.
It is important to note that support for the NetBSD 9 branch has come to an end, with the first release published in February 2020. Users are advised to update their systems to the recently released NetBSD 11.0 or the still maintained NetBSD 10.x branch. A maintenance release of NetBSD 10.2 is scheduled to be published in a few days, and NetBSD 11.1 is expected at the end of the month.
