New Versions Of Wine 11.20 And Wine-staging 11.20

Published experimental release of an open implementation of the Win32 API – Wine 11.20. Since the release of 11.19, 24 bug reports have been closed and 341 changes have been made.

The most important changes:

  • For the ARM64EC (ARM64 Emulation Compatible) implemented support for the “WINEDEBUG=+relay” debug mode, which allows you to track the arguments and return values of called functions. The ARM64EC architecture is used to simplify the porting of applications originally written for x86_64 systems to ARM64 systems, and allows individual modules with x86_64 code to be executed in the ARM64 environment using an emulator.
  • Checking of data in XML format has been improved.
  • The implementation of CDROM support has been moved from ntdll to Mount Manager.
  • Error reports related to the operation of applications have been closed: MS Office 2013, Unigine Heaven 2.0, Toad for SQL Server 5.7, Intuit QuickBooks 2008-2010, QuickBooks SS 2008 R1, SumatraPDF 3.1.2, Microsoft Core XML Services 6.0, Neko Project 21, FL Studio,
    cmd.exe, Medicalc4, UE4 ElectraPlayer, MusicBee, OneDrive.
  • Closed error reports related to the operation of the games: Star Wolves 3, UFO: Aftershock, UFO: Afterlight, Pure Pinball,
Imperium Great Battles of Rome, Incoming, Battlefield 1942.

In parallel formed release of the project Wine Staging 11.20, which provides advanced Wine builds that include incomplete or risky patches that are not yet suitable for adoption into the main Wine branch. Compared to Wine, Wine Staging provides 279 additional patches. The new release of Wine Staging synchronizes with the Wine 11.20 codebase and updates the vkd3d code. Patches have been transferred to the main Wine that improve the handling of incorrect parameters in APPINFO_QueryOption and HTTPREQ_QueryOption in wininet.
