Firefox 157 to Feature New User Interface Developed as Part of Nova Project
Firefox 157, scheduled for September 29, decided to use the new user interface developed as part of the Nova project by default. To enable the new interface without waiting for the release of Firefox 157, you can set the “browser.nova.enabled” setting on the about:configs page.
Main changes:
- The tab buttons and address bar fields have been rounded.
- The tab bar, navigation bar, and sidebar have been placed in a separate highlighted area.
- The toolbar contains separate buttons for switching to private browsing mode and using the built-in VPN.
- Easier access to tab grouping, vertical tabs, and side-by-side viewing of two tabs.
- The ability to enable compact mode has been returned, in which interface elements take up less screen space.
- Icons have been updated to look cleaner and more balanced in light and dark themes.
- The color palette has been changed, using shades of purple and lighter warm tones.
- Implemented a glow effect around the active tab button.
- The indents between all interface elements have been changed.
