Available guide Linux From Scratch 13.1 (LFS), starting with branch 13.x formed only in the form of an edition with the systemd system manager. Linux From Scratch provides instructions on how to build a basic Linux system from scratch, using the source code of the necessary software. Separately, the editors of Beyond Linux From Scratch are developing, which supplements the LFS instructions with information on assembling and configuring about 1000 software packages covering various areas of application, from DBMS and server systems, to graphical shells and media players. The release of BLFS 13.1 is expected to be published in the coming days.
In Linux From Scratch 13.1 updated 46 packages, including the Linux kernel 7.1.8, Systemd 261.2, GCC 16.2.0, Glibc 2.44, Binutils 2.47, Coreutils 9.11, OpenSSL 4.0.1, Vim 9.2.1025, Perl 5.44.0, Util-linux 2.42.2. Added mathematical library mpdecimal 4.0.1. The XML-Parser and intltool packages have been removed and moved to the BLFS edition. Errors in boot scripts were corrected, editorial work was done in explanatory materials throughout the book.
