Larry was arrested in February 2020 on charges of laundering money. The accused later admitted that more than 350,000 bitcoins were washed through Helix, which at the time of transactions were estimated at more than $ 300 million

During the arrest, law enforcement agencies seized various assets from Larry Harmon, including a wallet with cryptocurrency.

Immediately after the arrest, the police could not access bitcoin stored on the device. Therefore, the brother of the detainee decided not to lose too much time and to prevent the upcoming confiscation of crypto assets.

Gary Harmon used his brother’s accounts, and secretly transferred more than 712 BTC to his address. At the same time, the young man used two services for mixing. According to law enforcement officers, part of the stolen funds Harmon spent on large purchases and personal expenses.

Employees of the Cybercrime Department of the Tax Service of the Colombia district calculated the violator. As a result, Gary Harmon was arrested and pleaded guilty of fraud using electronic means and obstruction of justice. A young man faces up to 40 years in prison.
