In a recent development, the mobile platform ALT Mobile has expanded its support to include OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T smartphones powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. ALT Mobile, based on the Sisyphus repository and equipped with the GNOME shell for Phosh smartphones, has incorporated this new feature.
The project’s entire source code is open, from the build profile to the packages included in the distribution. Users can access the system image suitable for OnePlus 6/6T, along with images featuring the U-Boot bootloader for OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T.
However, in order to fully utilize ALT Mobile on OnePlus 6 and 6T devices, users need to initialize the components through the pre-installed Android system provided by the manufacturer. Failure to do so may result in certain components like the modem not functioning properly on ALT Mobile. Users can provide suggestions for improvements via bugzilla.
