The parties approach the assumption of a second round Macron-Le Pen or Macron-Zemmour with weariness.

Taken, the Republican Front? It’s a music that gets along with every election. By dint of rising, to be trivialized, the extreme right would no longer cause the same vigor in reflexes of rejection. The left, historically charged with this fight, did not make the weapons. But, occupied by his confrontation with Emmanuel Macron and his internal battles, she addresses the hypothesis of a second round Macron-Le Pen or Macron-Zemmour with great weariness and many questions.

For months, everyone wants to ward off this fatality, but the maturity approach and the polls have the hard tooth. Jean-Luc Mélenchon believes in the possibility of accessing the second round, pushed by an “effective vote”. For others, after five years spent denouncing this new macron-le pen cleavage, difficult to say that Emmanuel Macron can represent a dam. If 2017 had to reproduce, where will the voters on the left?

In opinion surveys, they are widely disinterested in a second round where they would not have a representative. According to the last edition of the survey conducted by Ipsos-Sopra Steria in partnership with the Sciences Po Political Research Center (CEVIPOF) and the Jean Jaurès Foundation for [Nute], on February 11, in case of second round Macron-le Pen, much of them would not vote. Some 59% of the voters of Jean-Luc Mélenchon (France unsuitable, LFI), 53% of those of Fabien Roussel (French Communist Party, PCF) could abstain or vote white. They do not express any voting intent anyway. As 34% and 36% of the voters of Yannick Jadot (Europe Ecology-Les Verts, EELV) and Anne Hidalgo (Socialist Party, PS).

In the partisans of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, the Macron-Zemmour hypothesis arouses even greater abstention, up to 62%. And a fraction of the surveyed some to vote for MM. Roussel or Mélenchon in the first round will rock to Marine Le Pen at the second, rather than vote for the outgoing President, 17% and 12% respectively. Some 9% of them could even switch to Eric Zemmour in the second round.

A point of honor

Macron, Le Pen, Zemmour … by helpful voting, the Republican Front lost its strength. Pierre Laurent, former National Secretary of the Communist Party, is worried. Trivialization of the extreme right on one side, domination of Emmanuel Macron on the other. In the middle, the left struggles to organize an alternative narrative: “It is not a problem of media response. Can there be a popular response?, He wonders. I do not will never trivialize the power of the far right. I called to vote Macron against Le Pen at 8:15 pm in 2017, I already saw the debates that it caused today, too many people Let it abuse by the idea that all this is the same … “
