Russia was concerned about risk of uncontrolled refugee flow from Afghanistan

Director of the Consular Department of Foreign Ministry Ivan Volynkin announced anxiety for the risk of a possible uncontrolled refugee flow to Russia and the countries of Central Asia from Afghanistan. It is reported by RIA Novosti.

Diplomat added that Moscow and its partners are trying to track the movement of migrants from problem regions. He noted that there is no legally executed mechanism for monitoring this issue in Central Asia, but the information is exchanged by the ministries, the institutes of the CSTO and SCO,

Also Volynkin said that while the number of illegally crossed the border of Afghans can be considered minor.

In September, it was reported that Poland introduced a state of emergency in the territories near the border with Belarus due to the influx of illegal migrants.

In August, the Minister of Immigration Denmark Mattias Trefaye expressed the opinion that refugees from Afghanistan should remain in their region and not go to Europe. He called on to strengthen the protection of the external borders of the European Union and to assist the states whose borders make up the outer border of the community.

August 26 reported that the official representative of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow had not yet decided on the final position on the reception of migrants from Afghanistan.
