American Boy Scouts caught in tens of thousands of sex crimes

Members of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have been caught in tens of thousands of sex crimes. This is stated in the bankruptcy case of the organization after the pedophile scandal, according to Axios sources.

The investigation is aware of about 90 thousand reports of cases of this kind. At the same time, sources note, not all applications from victims have been taken into account – according to lawyers, there are about 100 thousand of them.

“Most of the victims have experienced harassment from people whose crimes the BSA has never reported, which shows that the problem has been woven into the very fabric of the scout organization for many decades,” – Axios quotes lawyer Paul Mones, who has been analyzing for almost 20 years scout related cases.

According to him, child molestation, coercion into sexual intercourse of a different nature and viewing pornography and other similar phenomena are the norm for BSA. This problem, he said, is more relevant for scouts than for Catholic Church . At the same time, he notes, not a single member of Congress has taken up this problem during all this time and has not initiated a full-fledged investigation.

Case documents show that the BSA did not report all cases of sexual assault to the police. In February of this year, when the pedophile scandal began to be widely covered in the press, the organization announced on bankruptcy and the creation of a fund for compensation of victims.

BSA has existed since 1910 and unites more than 2 million scouts and approximately 960 thousand adult volunteers.
