Onishchenko reveals future of WHO’s decision on origin of coronavirus in China

Deputy State Duma , former chief sanitary doctor of Russia Gennady Onishchenko revealed the future of the solution World Health Organization (WHO) on the origin of the coronavirus. He told about this RIA Novosti .

According to the academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the conclusions of the organization’s experts on the origin of SARS-CoV-2 in China will not have legal force, since there is no legal basis for this. For example, the United States refused to ratify the control mechanism under the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BTWC) in 2001, so there are currently no legally binding mechanisms to implement this decision, the MP explained.

So, if this mechanism worked, then Beijing would be obliged to accept an international team to conduct an investigation, since otherwise it would violate international law. “The verdict of a group of scientists would also have legal force. Accusing or not accusing China of developing some kind of artificial virus would have legal force and consequences for the country,” Onishchenko said.

In addition, he pointed out that the United States itself violates this convention, creating uncertainty about its implementation. For example, Washington is building military laboratories in Georgia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, which are clearly not engaged in the development of children’s vaccines. “If this mechanism worked, then one could ask questions, why are you building a military laboratory, for example, in Alma-Ata? Why is it needed there?” – he concluded.

Earlier, WHO faced with the denial of entry into China to investigate the origin of the coronavirus. The head of the organization, Tedros Adanom Ghebreyesus, accused the Chinese authorities of not issuing the necessary permits for the experts to enter the country.
