Former President of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev in conversation with agency Interfax stated that the January 6 riots in Washington represent a threat to the entire future of the American state.
According to him, the storming of the Capitol is a pre-developed and planned action. Who exactly is behind it, the politician did not specify.
“But riots are not the main thing. Their task is clear, but only at first glance. Not everything is so simple. A little time will pass, and we will figure out why this was really done,” the agency quotes him as saying.
Gorbachev also noted that the current tension in the world will subside in the coming years – detente will occur and the arms race will end.
