Woman became a mother twice with a difference of several weeks

A resident of the American state of Minnesota twice became a mother with a difference of several weeks. According to WBAL, one of her daughters was carried by her mother.

31-year-old Kelsi Pierce suffered from infertility and over the past three years she and her husband have made many unsuccessful attempts to have a child. The American has undergone several operations and in vitro fertilization procedures. However, all was in vain, and the couple’s money was running out.

In the end, the doctor suggested that they use the services of a surrogate mother. However, Pierce could not afford it due to lack of money. Then her mother, 53-year-old Lisa Rutherford from Michigan, volunteered to carry her granddaughter on her own. At first, Pierce thought the idea was wild, but her mother was persistent and was able to persuade her. The woman underwent many medical examinations and tests and, thanks to her excellent health, doctors allowed her to become a surrogate mother.

Soon after Rutherford had her daughter’s eggs fertilized by her husband, Pierce herself learned that she was pregnant. Her doctor called it a miracle. Mother and daughter were constantly in touch and supported each other during pregnancy.

Rutherford gave birth to a granddaughter on October 1. They named her Everly. On November 23, a few weeks later, Pierce gave birth to her sister, Ava. Now both girls are healthy and doing well. Their mother still cannot believe in the reality of what is happening and admits that she is very happy even though she is very tired.

Earlier it was reported that in the English city of Taunton a woman gave birth to twins with a difference at two years old. This became possible thanks to the procedure of in vitro fertilization (IVF) – after going to the clinic, the embryos were frozen, and the couple used them twice.
