Coronavirus-fighting drink identified

A group of scientists from the Institute of Virology at the Essen University Hospital (Germany) has determined that sage and perilla teas help fight coronavirus. The article was published by the portal biorxiv .

During the study, virologists incubated coronavirus-infected cells with herbal teas from sage, perilla and coriander. When preparing them, they first brought the drinks to a boil, and then insisted for two hours at a water temperature of 60 degrees.

Scientists have concluded that even a short-term intake of Perilla and Sage is sufficient to significantly suppress the reproduction of the coronavirus. At the same time, it was possible to establish that the therapeutic effect is not achieved due to the general antiviral effect, since the same decoctions did not have a similar effect on the herpes simplex virus.

The researchers concluded that such teas, presumably, can be used to prevent coronavirus infection. However, this data remains to be verified by other specialists.

Earlier, German scientists discovered a natural product that kills up to 97 percent of the coronavirus in the body … According to experts, chokeberry juice most effectively suppresses the activity of the virus in the human body. They also believe that pomegranate juice can kill up to 80 percent of the coronavirus pathogens.
