“Value sharing”: unions want to mention issue of wages, employers refuse it

The MEDEF referred these discussions to companies during the negotiations that opened on November 8, on the question of “value sharing”.

Will they quarrely on the roadmap? The social partners have just launched a negotiation “on the sharing of value in businesses”, whose orientation is, at the outset, matter with debates between the protagonists. The unions would like to evoke the issue of wages, employers refuse it.

The discussions opened on November 8 on a proposal from the government. He wanted, in fact, to associate the organizations of employers and employees with his reflection around a campaign promise by Emmanuel Macron: “Better living from his work.” The law relating to the protection of power of ‘Purchase, promulgated in August, was a first step. The executive intends to go further today, in a context where millions of households are struggling to reach both ends due to the runaway prices of basic necessities.

In mid-September, the Minister of Labor, Olivier Dussopt, invited the social partners to parliament, with the aim of concluding a national interprofessional agreement (Ani) with concrete measures. Offer that the interested parties accepted, while asking to have a little more time than what was considered at the start by the power in place. The exchanges should last until the end of January 2023 – or three additional months compared to the calendar initially sketched.

To frame this exercise, Mr. Dussopt’s services gave to the parties involved an “orientation document” which states objectives. It is a question of “facilitating the development of all the systems for sharing value, including employee shareholding”, but also profit -sharing and participation, having “special attention for companies less than 50 employees “. Three “axes” of reflection are drawn, “without this list being limiting”: “generalize the benefit” of existing mechanisms, simplify and better articulate these, “orient employee savings towards the main priorities of common interest” (“Responsible and Solidarity Investments”, actions in favor of “ecological transition” …).

“You have to seize it”

At the meeting of November 8, all the unions “expressed the wish to widen the field of negotiation by integrating wages,” reports Karen Gournay (FO). “They cannot be closed if we seek to deal with the question of sharing value in its entirety,” said Raphaëlle Bertholon (CFE-CGC). It would be “an insult to the world of work” to ignore such an aspect of the file, adds Boris Plazzi (CGT): “The increase in wages constitutes one of the first concerns of employees, we must Give it. “The CFDT, through the voice of Luc Mathieu, adds other themes: inequalities between women and men from the point of view of remuneration,” tax transparency ” – which refers in particular to the processes used by some companies to move from a subsidiary to another the profits they create …
