The first release of the program for maintaining a task list QGoForIt has taken place, reminiscent in its capabilities of the application GoForIt, but written using Qt. The project code is written in C++ and distributed under the GPLv3 license.
Features implemented in QGoForIt:
- Two lists: active tasks (To-Do) and completed (Done).
- Storing tasks in simple text files todo.txt and done.txt (format todo.txt).
- Renaming a task by double-clicking directly in the list.
- Changing the order of tasks by dragging.
- A completed task is moved to the Done list with a completion date, unchecking it returns it to the To-Do list.
- Built-in timer with customizable work and break durations, start/pause/continue/skip/reset controls, automatic break after a working period and notifications on the desktop about the completion of each phase.
- Remembering the size and position of the window between launches.
Among the differences from GoForIt: automatic cleaning of completed tasks older than N days; tracking external changes todo.txt; protection against launching a second copy; portable mode, in which data, configuration, icons and translations are stored next to the executable file.
Not yet implemented: multiple task lists, filtering by projects and contexts, and plugin support.
