Published release of the project CoreBoot 26.09, developing a free alternative to proprietary firmware and BIOS. The project code is distributed under the GPLv2 license. The new version includes 1251 changes, prepared with the participation of 112 developers, of which 28 took part in development for the first time.

- An audit of external data parsers was carried out to prevent vulnerabilities. Implemented protection against reading from areas outside the buffer. Added size and boundary checks in BMP renderer, CBFS (CoreBoot File System) and FMAP (Flash Map). The integrity of FDT (Flattened Device Tree) headers is checked. Added protection against cyclic recursion when traversing bus elements. Implemented an emergency boot stop when SMM (System Management Mode) initialization fails.
