The mail client Convey has been released, as a continuation of the development of the project Geary, which has not seen new versions since May 2024. The key difference from Geary is the transition to using the GTK4 and libadwaita libraries. Convey is written in the Vala language and is distributed under the LGPL license.
Some of the notable changes in Convey include:
- Integration of Microsoft Graph backend for operating with Outlook and Microsoft 365 accounts.
- Ability to create, rename, and delete folders from the sidebar panel, as well as create subfolders using the context menu.
- Reworked code for autocompletion of entered addresses.
- Translation of plugins to use libpeas-2, gcr-4, and gck-2.
- Replacement of libcanberra and gsound libraries with GStreamer for playing notification sounds.
- Updated icons for a fresh look.
- Introduction of “All Inboxes” mode for displaying incoming messages from all accounts.
