Oracle has announced the release of the operating system Solaris 11.4 SRU 95 (Support Repository Update), bringing a range of significant changes and improvements to the Solaris 11.4 branch. To install the fixes included in the update, users simply need to execute the ‘pkg update’ command. Additionally, users can benefit from the free Solaris 11.4 CBE (Common Build Environment) edition, which follows a continuous release model.
Key changes in the latest version of Solaris 11.4 SRU 95 include:
- The “zpool monitor” command now supports multi-select providers (such as send, receive, destroy, scrub, and resilver) and default provider jobs.
- Added support for using the CTF (Compact C Type) format with a table of debugging symbols .SUNW_ldynsym to display information about types and function names.
- A new option “-zrelax=relocfit” and the DF_SUNW_RELAX_RELOCFIT flag for ELF files have been introduced to the ld linker, allowing for a flexible relocation packaging mode.
- Updates to various program versions, such as Ansible Core 2.21.1, Apache HTTP Server 2.4.67, BIND 9.20.23, Erlang 28.5.0.2, Firefox 140.10.0esr, Go 1.25.11, MySQL 8.4.10, OpenSSH 10.4p1, Rust 1.96.0, SQLite 3.53.2, and Vim 9.2.0513.
