NetBSD 10.2 has been released, classified as a corrective update to fix problems and vulnerabilities identified since the publication of NetBSD 10.1 in December 2024. The NetBSD 10 branch will be supported until the release of NetBSD 12.0. For download, installation images of 639 MB in size are available in assemblies for 57 system architectures and 16 different CPU families. It is recommended to use the recently published release of NetBSD 11.0 for new installations.
Among the changes not related to error correction, support for new versions of compilers, stability improvements of the iwm WiFi driver, and solving problems on Olimex A64 and MIPS R5000SC systems have been noted. Additionally, the implementation of the ability to load the kernel for amd64 when calling qemu with the “-kernel” option has been added. Support for devices such as ASIX AX88179A USB Ethernet, Asus USB-N10 Nano B1 Wi-Fi, Realtek RTL8126 5Gbps Ethernet, RTL8125D (rev 0x6890000), RIoTboard i.MX6S IOMUX, and VMware PV SCSI has been included.
Vulnerabilities in ipfilter, telnet, kernel TCP stack, OpenSSL, Unbound, and X.Org have been fixed. Updated versions of openssl 3.0.21, tmux 3.6a, and xkbcomp 1.5.0 have also been implemented in NetBSD 10.2.
