After four months of development, the August consolidated update of the KDE Gear 26.08 applications developed by the KDE project has been presented. The set includes releases of more than 250 programs, libraries and plugins. Information about the availability of Live builds of new application releases can be found on this page. The new versions of individual applications can be downloaded from the Flathub and SnapCraft directories.
The most notable changes in this update are as follows:
Dolphin File Manager:
- Improved integration with KDE Connect for pairing your smartphone with the desktop.
- Added option for advanced content filtering panel when viewing directories with large number of files.
- Support for grouping files and directories regardless of the selected sorting mode.
- Added buttons in context menu of tabs to delete a tab to the right or left.
Okular Document Viewer:
- Improved capabilities for signing documents and selecting entire line at once with three clicks.
- Added support for transferring notes and comments between documents via the clipboard.
Konsole Terminal Emulator:
- Added ability to move files with mouse to external applications by clicking on the file name while holding down the Alt key.
