Wine 11.19, Wine-Staging 11.19, D7VK 2.3 Released

Experimental release of an open implementation of the Win32 API – Wine 11.19 has been published. This release includes the closure of 23 bug reports and 358 changes compared to version 11.18.

The most significant changes in Wine 11.19 are as follows: The GDIPlus library now supports vertical text rendering, character tables have been updated to Unicode 18.0.0, support for DNS query caching has been implemented, the VBScript parser has been improved, and support for various IOCTL operations in mountmgr has been added.

Error reports related to the operation of applications such as ArcGIS Pro, Time clock SBE 1.2/2.2, and Steam 4126040 have been closed. Additionally, error reports related to the operation of games like Command Post, Zombie Army 4: Dead War, and Euro Truck Simulator 2 have also been addressed.

Concurrently, the Wine Staging project has released version 11.19, offering extended builds of Wine with patches that are not yet ready for mainline adoption. Compared to Wine, Wine Staging includes 279 additional patches. This release synchronizes with Wine 11.19 and updates the vkd3d codebase.

Furthermore, the release of D7VK 2.3 has been announced. D7VK focuses on implementing the Direct3D 3, 5, 6, and 7 graphics APIs introduced by Microsoft in the late 1990s. This project utilizes the Vulkan API to run retro games on Linux, translating Direct3D calls into Vulkan API calls.
