Author of Latte Dock panel announced termination of project

Michail Vourlakos (Michail Vourlakos) announced about stopping the development of the Lattte Dock project developing an alternative task management panel for KDE. The reason is the lack of free time and the loss of interest in further work on the project. Michael planned to leave the project and transfer escort to other hands after release 0.11, but in the end decided to leave earlier. It is not yet clear whether anyone can catch the development – Michael made an overwhelming number of changes. In the list of changes is the activity of several more people, but their contribution is insignificant and limited by separate corrections.

Latte panel is based as a result of the merger of the panels similar in terms of its tasks – Now Dock and Candil Dock. As a result of the association, an attempt was made to combine the principle of forming a separate panel proposed in Candil, which works separately from Plasma Shell, with the characteristic of the high -quality design of the interface and the use of only KDE and Plasma libraries without third -party dependencies. The panel is built on the basis of the KDE Frameworks framework and QT libraries, maintains integration with the KDE Plasma desktop and implements the effect of parabograms in the MacOS style or PLANK panel. Project code spreads under the license gplv2.
