AntiX 26.1 Lightweight Live Distribution Released for Outdated Equipment
Presented is a lightweight Live distribution AntiX 26.1, built on the Debian 13 package base and aimed at installation on outdated equipment. The release ships without the systemd system manager and with eudev instead of udev. There are 5 init systems available for use: runit (default), sysVinit, dinit, s6-rc, and s6-66. The basic user environment is created using the IceWM window manager and the zzzFM file manager, but fluxbox, jwm, and herbstluftwm are also included in the package. The full build offers Linux kernel 6.6.139, and the remaining builds offer 5.10.256. Size of iso images: 2.5 GB (full, includes LibreOffice and 4 window managers – IceWM, fluxbox, jwm, and herbstluftwm) and 703 MB (without graphics). Assemblies are prepared for x86_64 and i386 architectures.

- Network setup: connman, gnome-ppp, and ceni.
- Text editors: geany, leafpad.
