Baikonur began vacuum tests of ship “Union MS-21”

In the assembly and test case of the site No. 254 of the Baikonur cosmodrome, the finish preparation of the piloted ship “Union MS-21” continues. Today, February 10, 2022, the vehicle transportation in a vacuum chamber was transported on a vacuum chamber for conducting tightness tests.

After the completion of the preparatory activities, Energia RCC specialists (Roscosmos state corporation) and profile enterprises of Roscosmos have completed transportation and loading of the Soyuz MS-21 for the lifettes of the 17T523MR vacuum chamber. The cycle of pneumatic tests using the helium-air environment in the scanned volumes is intended for high-quality control of the tightness of the ship and its onboard systems in ground conditions.

Start of the Soyuz-2.1A carrier launch vehicle with a piloted ship “Union MS-21” under the program of delivery of participants 66 / 67th of the main expedition to the international space station is planned in March 2022.
