The right-wing opposition Senate voted in the night of Wednesday 12 to Thursday, January 13 at first reading, after having significantly changed it, the bill strengthening the management tools for the health crisis, which establishes the vaccinal pass. The vote of the entire text was acquired by 249 votes for and 63 against, under the chairmanship of Gérard Larcher (the Republicans), at the end of two long days of appeased debates, contrasting with the agitated climate which had surrounded his adoption. last week at the National Assembly.

The article 1 of the bill, that transforms the vaccineal passes, was voted by 242 votes for and 69 against. Senators have made several amendments that are not the government’s taste, augurusing a tight discussion between deputies and senators in Joint Joint Committee on Thursday to find an agreement on the bill.

Thus, according to the text voted by the senators, the vaccinal pass could only be imposed when the number of hospitalizations related to COVID-19 would be greater than 10,000 patients at the national level, and would automatically disappear below this threshold. . The number of hospitalized patients is now nearly 24,000, according to the figures of the health authorities. Below the threshold of 10,000 hospitalized patients, the vaccinal pass could only be maintained in the departments where the full vaccination rate is less than 80% of the population or with a high incidence rate.

Joint Joint Commission this Thursday

Members and Senators will meet Thursday, January 13 at the beginning of the afternoon at the Bourbon Palace, to attempt to agree on a common version of the Joint Joint Committee (CMP). In case of agreement, it will be submitted for final adoption one last time to the vote of the Senate Thursday and then from the Assembly Friday. If the CMP fails, the bill will return to new reading in both Houses, the Assembly with the last word.

Once the bill is adopted by Parliament, it will be necessary to justify a vaccine status to access leisure activities, restaurants and bars, fairs or interregional public transport. A negative test will no longer suffice except to access institutions and health services.
