Usmanov’s Metalloinvest will raise salaries to employees in 2021

Metalloinvest, owned by entrepreneur Alisher Usmanov and his partners and one of the leading regional producers of high-quality steel, has been increasing the incomes of its employees since March 1. This is stated in the message of the company.

The increase will amount to 5 percent, for which about 1.9 billion rubles will be allocated, taking into account deductions for social insurance. The bulk of these funds will be used to ensure a guaranteed growth of wages by 4 percent, and the remaining 1 percent of the fund – to increase the size of existing payments.

From March 1, the wages of employees who are not included in the performance management system will be increased, from April 1 – employees included in this system.

“The best professionals in the industry work at the enterprises of Metalloinvest and our goal is to be leaders in terms of employee income,” said Nazim Efendiev, General Director of Metalloinvest. “We continue to work systematically to improve the welfare of our employees. According to the results of the first half of the year a decision will be made on an additional increase in the wage bill this year. “

Earlier, Forbes magazine called Usmanov the leader in terms of personal donations to the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the world among Russians. In April 2020, the billionaire, together with partners in the USM holding, sent two billion rubles to the needs of the operational headquarters to prevent the importation and spread of a new coronavirus infection in Russia. According to the British newspaper Times, the amount of funds allocated by the companies of Usmanov and his business partners to counter COVID-19 in Russia and Uzbekistan exceeded $ 168.2 million.

In 2020, Alisher Usmanov decided to pay all employees of the Kommersant Publishing House a bonus of approximately one thousand US dollars due to fluctuations in the ruble exchange rate. “We decided to pay a bonus due to the fact that the exchange rate is jumping, people do not feel very well,” said Vladimir Zhelonkin, General Director of Kommersant at the time.
