Ukrainian court arrested property of leader of “Party of Hungarians”

In Ukraine, the court seized property seized during a search of the leader of the KMKS (“Party of Hungarians of Ukraine”) Vasily Brenzovich, reports UNIAN .

The Transcarpathian Court of Appeal seized the property, considering that the property is material evidence in criminal proceedings.

At the end of November Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) searched Brenzovich and functionaries one of the charitable foundations of Transcarpathia. The investigation concerns violations of the state sovereignty of Ukraine.

This is not the first scandal associated with the Transcarpathian Hungarians. In the same month, in one of the settlements, some of the deputies sang the Hungarian anthem during the taking of the oath. SBU opened a criminal case.

The Ukrainian authorities did not let high-ranking Hungarian officials into the country due to interference in local elections in Transcarpathia. Budapest called the decision pathetic and senseless.

In 2019, a video from the Hungarian consulate in Transcarpathia appeared on the network, in which local residents were handed out documents and sworn allegiance to Hungary. Later it turned out that it was a package of papers for obtaining citizenship. Ukraine expelled the Hungarian consul from the country.
