Psychologist lists signs of painful smartphone addiction

Psychologist Dmitry Sinarev listed in an interview with the Prime agency the signs of a painful smartphone addiction.

According to him, a person dependent on a smartphone can be easily identified by his behavior. Such a person will always hold the gadget either in his hands or next to him. “Such people often make a lot of grammatical and stylistic mistakes, relying entirely on the” brains “of their gadgets,” the expert said. He noted that trusting in the transmission of one’s thoughts is also a sign of addiction.

In addition, it is easier for a person who depends on a gadget to convey their attitude to something using symbols, emoticons. “We begin to think with these signs, without bothering to work on speech,” said the psychologist, adding that the main danger is that people become programmable and, as a result, controllable.

Last January, Boston University professor Joel Renstrom equated with smartphone addiction to smoking. According to the scientist, secondhand smoke and gadget addiction have a lot in common. This affects children, to whom parents unknowingly instill the habit of taking out a smartphone at any free time. The researcher gave the example of a mother who holds her smartphone with her free hand while feeding.
