Published release of the music player Qmmp 2.4. The player includes two interfaces: “simple”, using standard elements, and “classic”, which copies the Xmms/Winamp/Audacious interface. OSS4 (FreeBSD), ALSA (Linux), Pulse Audio, JACK, QtMultimedia, Icecast, WaveOut (Win32), DirectSound (Win32) and WASAPI (Win32) can be used for audio output. The code is written in C++ using the Qt library and is distributed under the GPLv2 license. Ready-made packages generated for Ubuntu.
Among the changes in Qmmp 2.4:
- Group editing of tags (as a separate module).
- Built-in song lyrics editor.
- In the settings dialog, the ability to refuse has been added changes made (OK/Cancel buttons).
- An “OK” button has been added to the tag editor for simultaneously making changes and closing.
- Setting module priorities.
- Support for id3v2 tags for FLAC files.
- Player libraries (libqmmp/libqmmpui) have been translated to use the PIMPL idiom, operators have appeared for some classes copying and moving constructors.
- Ability to play MIDI and WavPack files from archives.
- Retrieving song lyrics from the Internet only upon user request (optional).
- Support for Opus files in the Webm container.
- Improvements to the simple user interface: customization of dark mode colors for the playlist and visualization, ability to hide the status bar.
- Improved command line support: creating/deleting playlists, instead of the playlist number, you can now use its name.
- In grouping mode, it is now possible to display the artist/album in an additional group line.
