NVIDIA Unveils Stable Linux Client for GeForce NOW

NVIDIA has recently unveiled the first stable release of an application designed for the Linux platform, allowing users to connect to the cloud service GeForce NOW. This innovative service enables gamers to play games on servers hosted by NVIDIA, with input/output broadcasting to the user’s system. By utilizing this application, users are granted access to a virtual gaming computer equipped with an NVIDIA RTX 5080 graphics card. This high-performance card supports remote access with resolutions up to 1440p and 4K, as well as frame rates of 60 or 120 FPS.

The application can be easily downloaded from the official website and is provided in the form of Flatpak, officially supporting Ubuntu 24.04 and newer versions. Although primarily tailored for Ubuntu, the application may be compatible with other Linux distributions. The program’s functionalities and user interface closely mirror the versions of GeForce NOW applications available for Windows and macOS.

Aside from the paid subscription, GeForce NOW also offers a free version with limited features, including advertisements and restrictions. Users of the free version will have access to a selection of 2000 games, ray tracing disabled, a maximum resolution of 1080p, and a session time limit of 1 hour.
