Robbers took out wine worth more than 31 million

In the east of France, in the Saone-et-Loire department, a robbery took place – unidentified persons took more than a hundred bottles of wine from the wine cellar at the Relais Château and fled the scene, the local BFMTV channel reports.

It is noted that the incident occurred on Tuesday, January 5. The damage, according to preliminary data, amounted to about 350 thousand euros (more than 31 million rubles). The police are now looking for those who stole alcohol.

According to the information of the TV channel, a car drove up to the institution, and several people got out of it. They made their way to Relais Château, broke the door lock in the wine vault and carried with them a large amount of expensive alcohol. An alarm went off in the room, and the owner of the cellar, noticing the thieves, called the police and tried to catch up with the violators.

The robbers quickly got into the car and tried to escape. In pursuit, they threw bottles at police cars to break away from the pursuit. Later, their vehicle, along with the stolen wine, was found near Lyon.

It is clarified that this is the second Relais Château robbery in two days. On Monday, January 4, alcohol was also taken out of the cellar in the amount of about 200 thousand euros. At the same time, there is no information yet that the criminals are in cahoots or are the same people.
