Lukashenko announced creation of an anti-Belarusian information center in Ukraine

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced the creation in Ukraine of a center for “information and psychological operations”, whose activities are anti-Belarusian in nature. He told about this on the air of the ONT TV channel, reports RIA Novosti .

According to Lukashenko, similar centers operate near Warsaw and in Lithuania, where the leader of the Belarusian opposition Svetlana Tikhanovskaya is now located. The head of Belarus noted that, in general, “good” American specialists work in such institutions. He also added that Telegram channels are now the “main drive belt”.

Earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei commented on Ukraine’s joining the anti-Belarusian sanctions European Union (EU). In his opinion, Ukraine’s policy is “a mockery of common sense.” He added that Ukraine’s accession to Western sanctions against Belarus is another non-independent decision of the neighboring country, which demonstrates the inconsistency of its policy.

In Belarus, for the fourth month, mass protests continue after the presidential elections on August 9, according to which Alexander Lukashenko, who ran for the sixth term, received 80 percent of the vote. The first shares were violently accelerated. Thousands of people were detained, many of them told about torture and beatings in the isolation wards. It is known about those killed by the protesters.

Against this background, relations between Ukraine and Belarus have deteriorated sharply. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky publicly recommended Lukashenka to hold new elections, to which the Belarusian side replied that it did not need “worn-out advice.” As a result, Ukraine suspended contacts with a neighboring country and joined to the sanctions imposed by the EU against Belarus.
