Lightcom’s Instructions on Becoming a Russian Monitor

Attention to domestic electronics is always high, especially in the context of current political and economic conditions. However, the Russian blogger Maxim Gorshenin made an unexpected discovery that casts doubt on the domestic origin of some goods on the market.

In one of the last videos on his channel, Gorshenin presented the analysis of the “fully Russian” Lightcom monitor. It was revealed that the domestic processor of “Milandra” on the board of the device actually does not carry any functional load.

Gorshenin conducted an experiment, dismantling the monitor and replacing the Milandra processor with a simple wire to close the electric circuit. To his surprise, the monitor turned on and continued to work without any changes.

Further investigation revealed that the Taiwanese chip RTD2525AR from Realtek is the chip responsible for the main operations in the monitor. The domestic processor was seemingly only soldered onto the device to pass the certification of the Ministry of Industry and Trade as a domestic product.
