Introduced Desktop environment release Budgie 10.10.4, which became the fourth update of the 10.10 branch transferred to use Wayland protocol. At the same time, similar releases were created for related components, such as the desktop Budgie Desktop View and a set of services Budgie Desktop Services (updating the session manager Budgie Session and the system configuration interface Budgie Control Center is delayed). The project code is distributed under the GPLv2 license.
Packages with Budgie 10.10.4 are available in Fedora Rawhide.
Budgie is based on a panel that is similar in organization to classic desktop panels. All panel elements are applets, which allows you to flexibly customize the composition, change the placement and replace the implementations of the main panel elements to your taste. Available applets include the classic application menu, task switching system, open windows list area, virtual desktop view, power management indicator, volume control applet, system status indicator and clock.
