Tewi 3.0.0], a text-based console application (TUI) for managing BitTorrent clients, has been released. The program allows you to connect to the Transmission, qBittorrent, Deluge and rTorrent daemons, view and manage the list of torrents, add new downloads, and search popular trackers. Supports various display modes (cards, compact, one-line), viewing detailed information about torrents (files, trackers, peers), managing categories and tags,
switching alternative speed limits. The interface is built on the basis of the Textual library. The code is written in Python and distributed under the GPLv3+ license.
Main changes since version 2.0.0:
- Added support for rTorrent (0.9.7 and later): connecting directly via SCGI or via XML-RPC over HTTP (when specifying “–path”). Almost all capabilities of other clients are supported, except for switching alternative speed limits. Categories are stored in the ruTorrent format, so they are compatible with it.
- The list of torrents has been rewritten to the Textual Line API. Only visible lines are drawn, so loading, updating and scrolling are noticeably faster.
- Added page and half-page navigation through the list of torrents (“Ctrl+F”/”Ctrl+B”, “Ctrl+D”/”Ctrl+U”).
- Added filtering torrents by name (“F”) and new filters by status.
- Added the ability add a torrent by its hash.
- Added multiple selection of torrent files for group change of priority.
- Added opening files from detailed information about the torrent by pressing “Enter”.
- Added display of general client speed limits (in addition to alternative ones).
- Added client connection status to the header (shows loss of connection with the daemon).
- Added selection of Textual themes: dracula, monokai, nord, etc. (“T”, option “–theme”, full list: “–list-themes”).
- The configuration file allows specifying environment variables (“${VAR_NAME}”), for example, for passing separately stored passwords and API keys.
- Generation of autocompletion scripts for bash, zsh and tcsh has been implemented (“–print-completion”). The PyPI package includes ready-made autocompletion for Bash.
- Added support for Prowlarr with the ability to search all indexers at once or select individual ones (“–prowlarr-multi”). Indexers can be specified in search presets.
- Added support for Bitmagnet], a self-hosted BitTorrent indexer and DHT crawler. When searching, content metadata is displayed in detail (type, title, episodes, resolution, codec and video source).
- Added search presets (named combinations of search providers and categories).
- Added sorting of search results by various attributes (“s”).
- Added a compact mode for displaying search results with a minimum of columns (“V”).
- Memorized the last indexers and categories selected during a search (“W”).
