Ubuntu 24.04.5 LTS X86-64 Install Image Pulled

Canonical has announced a halt in the distribution of the installation iso image of Ubuntu Desktop 24.04.5 LTS for x86-64 architecture (ubuntu-24.04.4-desktop-amd64.iso). This decision was made due to the detection of a failure within the installer that causes it to crash. The issue arises when selecting the advanced installation mode in the installer interface and is linked to the package livecd-rootfs. This problem stems from a call to the “enhanced-secure-boot” handler, which implements support for TPM-based full-disk encryption.

While the Ubuntu 24.04.5 LTS iso image for x86-64 is currently unavailable, server live build and image for Network installations, as well as builds for other architectures, can still be accessed for download. Users are advised to utilize the Ubuntu 24.04.4 release and then apply accumulated updates until the corrected build is released.
