Clonezilla Live 3.2.1 Distribution Released

The latest release of Linux distribution Clonezilla Live 3.2.1 has been published, aimed at quickly cloning disks by copying only the used blocks. The distribution, similar to the proprietary Norton Ghost, comes as a 484MB ISO image for amd64 architecture.

Based on Debian GNU/Linux, Clonezilla Live utilizes DRBL, Partition Image, NTFSCLONE, PARTCLONE, and UDPCAST projects. It can be downloaded via CD/DVD, USB Flash, or network (PXE) and supports LVM2 and various file systems. The distribution allows mass cloning over the network, including multicast traffic transmission, enabling the cloning of multiple client machines simultaneously.

Key updates in the new version include synchronization with the Ubuntu package base 04, an update to the Linux kernel 6.14 branch, and Partclone tools updated to version 0.3.36 with BTRFS support. Additional features include the inclusion of Libfsapfs-Utils, USB-Modeswitch, and FSCRYPT in the live-rushing packets.

  • The new version includes the OCS-FIND-Live-KEY module to search for USB drives with the VFAT file system, improved dialogues and menus for saving data, and a mechanism to maintain the block device connection process.
  • Furthermore, the OCS-Live-Repository module now supports the “DEV = /// OCS_Live_USB” parameter to use the repository with Clonezilla Live USB, and BTRFS support is added to the DRBL-OCS.conf configuration file.
