The project coreboot has released version 25.06, providing a free alternative to proprietary firmware and BIOS. Distributed under the GPLV2 license, this new version incorporates 879 changes contributed by 128 developers.

- Added support for fifth-generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, known as “Emerald Rapids,” enabling Coreboot usage on the latest Intel server and workstation platforms.
- Enhanced support for SOC Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus X1P-42-100 and improved compatibility with MediaTek MT8189 and MT8196.
- Revamped infrastructure for displaying screensavers during boot, offering improved information rendering, logo support, and battery state processing.
- Updated utility cbfstool to enable Multi-elf mode, allowing integration of multiple binary files in ELF format within the FS CBFS.
- Implemented PRR DSM function support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, allowing enhanced energy consumption management in wireless subsystems based on ACPI methods.
