The results of the second round of the legislative elections led to an unprecedented situation under the V e Republic with a complex and fragmented hemicycle.

Three ministers – Amélie de Montchalin (ecological transition), Brigitte Bourguignon (health) and Justine Benin (sea) – have been eliminated and will have to resign. Government spokesperson Olivia Grégoire assured on France Inter that a new government will be appointed “within a few days”.

Although elected in Calvados, the Prime Minister is criticized by opposition elected officials. At the microphone of RTL, Mathilde Panot spoke of the “possibility” of a motion of censorship against the government. “What is certain is that Elisabeth Borne is disqualified. I hope we will make her leave,” she said.

The NUPS and the RN have each claimed the chairmanship of the finance committee, traditionally granted to another training than the presidential majority.
