Issue Postmarketos 22.06, Linux display for smartphones and mobile devices

presented the project Postmarketos 22.06 , developing Linux distribution for smartphones based on the Alpine Linux package base, standard MUSL SIBLIOTEK and BUSYBOX utility set. The aim of the project is to provide Linux display for smartphones, which does not depend on the life cycle of supporting official firmware and not tied to typical solutions of the main players of the industry that set the development vector. Assembly prepared for Pine64 Pinephone, Purism Librem 5 and 25 of the devices supported by the Samsung Galaxy A3/S4, Xiaomi Mi Note 2/Redmi 2, OnePlus 6, Lenovo A6000, Asus Memo Pad 7 and even Nokia N900. Limited experimental support is provided for more than 300 devices .

As the main user shells are offered kDE Plasma mobile, phosh and sxmo , but there is the possibility of installation of other environment, including gnome, mate and xfce .

  • The package base is synchronized with Alpine Linux 3.16. The postmarketos release preparation cycle was reduced after the form of the next Alpine branch – the new issue was prepared and tested in 3 weeks, instead of previously practiced 6 weeks.
