Belarusian Constitution to remove neutral and nuclear-free status

From the Constitution of Belarus decided to remove the mention of the neutral and nuclear status of the Republic. This follows from the draft change in the main law, to which the Telegram channel “Belarus brain” drew.

Now in Article 18 of the Constitution states: “The Republic of Belarus aims to make its territory by a nuclear-free zone, and the state is neutral.” In a new version, this phrase was not. Instead, the project of the updated basic law states that Belarus excludes military aggression from its territory in relation to other countries.

In addition, changes to the Constitution of Belarus prohibit a person to hold a president of more than two deadlines. This condition will come into force when the position will take the newly elected head of state.

Amendments also developed a scenario of the actions of the authorities in the case of the death of the president as a result of the attempt, terrorist attack, military aggression or other actions of a violent nature. In this situation, an emergency or martial law will be introduced, the authorities will begin to act in accordance with the decisions of the Security Council, the chairman of the Speaker of the Council of the Republics.
