United States has disagreements with a key ally on Afghanistan

Between the US and Pakistan continues to continue disagreements regarding their activities in Afghanistan, even after the “Taliban” radical movement came to power (prohibited in Russia), and the military campaign for Americans in the country was actually ended. This is reported by Politico with reference to a number of documents that found themselves.

So, it became known that Washington is interested in the more active participation of Islamabad in the fight against various terrorist groups that operate on the territory of Afghanistan, including the Islamic State (IG, a terrorist organization, prohibited in Russia) and Al -Cident “(prohibited in Russia). In addition, the United States believes that Pakistan, who is their main ally outside NATO, should pay more attention to the problem with the streams of Afghan refugees, with which the American authorities faced.

In turn, Islamabad refuses to recognize the information that the Taliban in Afghanistan, who have been supported by Pakistanis for many years, conduct mass repressions against local residents who have previously cooperated with representatives of the International Coalition and the Afghan army. At the same time, Pakistan persistently demands from the United States to recognize its key role in the evacuation of foreign citizens from Afghanistan and assisting refugees.

As noted by Politico, all this indicates that even after the United States brought their troops from Afghanistan, the parties are far from to leave all mutual claims in the past. It is specified that the US President Joe Bayiden is extremely careful to contacts with Pakistan, which has long been suspected of driving a double game. Thus, Islamabad is accused not only in large-scale support for the Afghan Taliban, thanks to which those were able to seize the country so quickly, but also in the coating of other terrorist groups. At the same time, in Washington, they understand that it is inappropriate to spoil relations with Pakistan: it is a country that not only has connections with the Taliban, but also has nuclear weapons, and completely give it to Chinese influence dangerous.

Earlier in September it was reported that the Taliban triumph in Afghanistan caused the growth of tensions between India and Pakistan. It was noted that the two nuclear powers supported the opposite directions in Afghanistan and accused each other in helping terrorists. So, the victory of the Taliban strengthened the influence in the region supporting them Pakistan. Such a state of affairs provoked concerns about the safety of India, in particular, the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
