Moldova mulling to hold a referendum on entering Russia

Party “Patriots of Moldova” proposed to hold a referendum on the entry of the republic to Russia. On Wednesday, June 16, the chairman of Mikhail Garbuz reported, “Interfax” reports.

According to Garbuz, the party decided to participate in early parliamentary elections on July 11, analyzed the election programs of competitors and realized that there were no proposals for improving the situation in the country there.

“We propose to initiate and conduct a national referendum on the entry of the Republic of Moldova to the Russian Federation as a separate subject of the Federation with the preservation of the status of the Republic,” Garbuz said.

On this referendum, the Moldovan voter for the first time in history will be able to determine the path of further development of the country, the politician is confident. The entry of the republic to Russia will give her a number of advantages, promises Garbuz: reunification with Transnistria, the protection of Orthodox values, the preservation of the Moldovan language and its identity, Russian energy tariffs, access to a huge market and numerous benefits, including maternity capital.

“The time of the Great Union of fraternal peoples in a single state. It’s time to go home,” the party leader has concluded.

“Patriots of Moldova” participate in elections with the RF logo, which means “referendum” or “Russian Federation”.

22 parties, two blocks and two independent candidates participate in the parliamentary elections. According to polls, the properresident PAS leads, which can score 30-40 percent of the votes. The unit of the Communists and Socialists receives 23-30 percent. The parliament may pass two or three parties that are able to overcome the threshold of 5 percent of the votes.
