Russia: prepared to limit gasoline exports after May holidays

Russian Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov said that after the May holidays, a project would be considered, providing for restrictions on the export of gasoline from Russia. This is reported by TASS.

As Shulginov noted, measures to limit the export of petroleum products from the country can be introduced in emergency cases – for example, with an increase in the inland fuel prices.

Also, the minister added that the project documents were already prepared and will be considered by the government after the end of the May holidays.

May 7, the Russian government has adopted additional measures to stabilize prices for fuel. So, oilmen obliged to sell gasoline to an independent gas station on the stock exchange at market prices. Also, the Cabinet also expanded fuel supplies from stock trading, including the refinery themselves with the export of gasoline vehicles.

Earlier in April, the Ministry of Energy offered to prohibit gasoline exports from Russia for three months. Such measures were adopted to “prevent acceleration of price increases” on fuel. Under the temporary ban on the export, automobile gasoline of all brands and light distillates are falling.
