Germany: asked to arouse case against Lukashenko

In Germany, four lawyers from Berlin appealed to the Prosecutor General’s Office in Karlsruhe demanding the case against President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and Silovikov. This is reported by the Edition Tagesspiegel.

According to the publication, lawyers represent the interests of 10 Belarusians, at their disposal of more than 100 documented cases of torture by the authorities of the country.

As lawyers said, all customers reported on the detentions on minor reasons, torture and ill-treatment. “They were held in extremely close chambers and auto facilities, and for several days they were subjected to physical violence, they were humiliated, they threatened them, insulted and subjected to other humiliations,” follows from the application. They also expressed the hope that the prosecutor’s office would start investigating against representatives of the Belarusian authorities.

Tagesspiegel noted that for many Belarusian politicians there is a ban on entry into the countries of the European Union.

Protests continue in Belarus for more than six months after the presidential election on August 9. Shares are rigidly suppressed by the security forces. Tens of thousands of people were detained, many told about torture and beating in insulators. Four people died in collisions with siloviki.
