Diplomat from Russian black list became US Deputy Secretary of State

The US Congress Senate approved the candidacy of Victoria Nuland to the post of Deputy Secretary of State for Political Affairs. In the near future it will be shifted. This is reported by TASS.

In May 2019, Nuland was denied Russian visa. Then the Russian Foreign Ministry explained that the diplomat is blacklisted by the Russian authorities in response to US sanctions.

The new US Deputy Secretary of State from 2013 to 2017 was supervised in the presidential administration of Barack Obama issues related to the post-Soviet space. It is widely known for the fact that during the protests in 2014 was one of the Western diplomats, who publicly supported the protesters.
