Ukraine promised to arrange Afghanistan for Russia in case of direct war

Ukraine, in the event of a direct war with Russia, will go on the offensive and arrange a new Afghanistan for it. This was stated in interview to the Politeka channel, said the adviser on information policy of the Ukrainian delegation in the Trilateral Contact Group Alexey Arestovich .

Answering the question of how long the Ukrainian army will hold out in the event of a Russian attack, the adviser replied: “We would beat them, and even go into a counteroffensive. Why should we hold on?” He added that Ukraine for the Russian side would become “Afghanistan, but only abruptly”, since Kiev has a full range of weapons.

According to Arestovich, the Ukrainian side has already shot at Russia more than a hundred “coolest” missiles from their operational-tactical complexes. He stated that many of them hit the mark, which led to serious consequences. The adviser did not specify what exactly he had in mind, but before that he said that he considered the situation in Donbass an international conflict with the participation of Russia.

He also noted that if Ukraine begins to use American weapons in the confrontation with Russia, then the losses of the Russian side will seriously increase, and therefore Moscow itself is interested in de-escalating the conflict in Donbass.

At the end of December, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky appreciated the possibility of a full-scale war with Russia and described the scenario of how such a conflict would proceed.

Prior to that, Arestovich stated that the probability of a full-scale war in Ukraine is negligible after a series of military exercises with the USA and Great Britain.

The armed conflict in Donbass has been going on for over six years. In April 2014, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, which proclaimed independence after the change of the central government. Ukraine accuses Russia of occupying part of Donbass and supporting separatism. The Russian side rejects these claims.
