Japan to hit Huawei

The Japanese government is negotiating with Washington and London on cooperation and ousting the Chinese company Huawei from the 5G equipment market, the Yomiuri newspaper writes.

Tokyo is discussing the conditions for wider admission to the US and UK equipment markets of Japanese corporations NEC and Fujitsu. Huawei currently accounts for over 33 percent of the global mobile station equipment market. However, the countries decided to unite and change the situation.

Earlier it became known that Sweden also decided to hit Huawei. However, the ban of the country’s authorities to use Huawei and ZTE equipment to build a 5G network on their territory turned out to be a failure for the kingdom itself, giving China an unexpected ally. The Chinese companies were defended by their competitor in the Swedish market – local manufacturer Ericsson.

The US previously imposed a ban on Huawei’s technology and supply of processors for equipment, accusing the company of cooperating with the Chinese military and gathering information. The company is currently looking for a way to cope with the problems and reorient itself to the domestic market.
