Ukraine invited Russia to summit on Crimea

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba in an interview with Obozrevatel invited Russia to take part in the summit of the Crimean Platform project.

“Let them come. We need a negotiation process on the return of Crimea,” said the Foreign Minister.

He explained that the topic of the negotiations will be one – “the modality of Russia’s withdrawal from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol and the restoration of Ukraine’s sovereignty and jurisdiction in this territory.”

“We will not discuss any other issues with them. I invite you!” – said Kuleba.

Earlier, he called Crimea “an open wound” for Russia. “We poured salt on it well, and I’m happy with that,” the minister said.

Crimea reunited with Russia in March 2014 after a referendum in which the majority of the peninsula’s residents supported this decision. Ukraine considers it an occupation.
